SIGS Parent Association (SPA) exists to support the competitive and developmental team programs at SIGS. The Association provides the opportunity for parents to fund raise some of the expenses associated with competing in a top rate USA Gymnastics program. The Association fees pay for the following expenses:

  • Local and USA Gymnastics Dues
  • Individual and Team Entry Fees for Meets
  • Coach's meet expenses; including flights, mileage, meals, hotel, and session fees
  • Professional Development for coaches; i.e. clinics
  • Accounting services for the Association; including individual monthly statements and year-and-end tax preparation
  • Awards; including in-house meets, skill evaluations, and year-end banque
  • Miscellaneous; including meet hosting expenses, etc.

This SIGS Parent Association will provide multiple fundraising opportunities throughout the fiscal year (June 1 through May 31). There is usually more than one fundraiser a month not including the on-going Grocery Card/Certificate purchase program.

For more information on fundraising, e-mail fundraising@sigsgym.com.

Member Responsibilities

  • As long as your child is competing actively at SIGS, you are responsible for the fees listed on the attached budget sheet for your child's level. We encourage you to take advantage of the fundraising opportunities provided to fulfill your commitment to the Association.
  • You are also responsible to help your team representative plan and execute a fundraiser. Please be available to assist your team rep.
  • Also, during a year that SIGS Parent Association hosts a major meet, you will need to sign up to assist with this project. (Working a meet is also a fundraising opportunity!)

Points of Information

  • Please watch the Parent Association Bulletin Board next to the Parent Association office located on the second floor at SIGS for notices, sign-ups, and information throughout the year.
  • You will receive QUARTERLY statements from the Association. This will better communicate to you how much of your gymnast's fees you have raised, and if you need to make additional payments or if you have a credit.
  • Please use the mailbox located next to the Parent Association office located on the second floor at SIGS to make payments to the Parent Association. It is labeled "Parent Association".
  • If you owe an unreasonably large amount and are not fundraising or making regular payments, you child may not be entered in a meet(s).
  • The balance of your child's fees should be paid prior to the Awards Banquet, or your child may not be able to attend.
  • If your child leaves the program after the Trial month of June, you are responsible to pay a pro-rated rate for the number of months your child remained in the program.
  • If your child is injured and is already entered in a meet (usually done several weeks in advance), we cannot credit your account for these fees. However, if your child is injured and is not entered in a meet, please contact the President or Treasurer of the Association and we will credit your account accordingly.
  • If your financial status changes and you have difficulty paying your Parent Association fees, please contact the President of the Association. We will work with you in this regard.
  • If you have questions about your billing statement, please direct your questions to the President or Treasurer of the Association.

SIGS Parent Association (SPA) - is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to:

  • Provide support, enthusiasm, and encouragement for each gymnast, coach, and team at SIGS
  • Promote gymnastic competition in all competitive and developmental levels as established by U.S.A. Gymnastics (USAG)
  • Increase community awareness of the sport of gymnastics by hosting local meets and through exhibitions and demonstrations throughout the community.
  • Provide the opportunity for parents to fundraise some of the expenses associated with competing in a top-rate USA Gymnastics program including meet entry fees, coaches’ expenses, flight expenses, and dues.

We welcome new gymnasts and parents as well as established team members, friends, colleagues, and sponsors to the SPA family for the 2008-2009 season!

Gymnastics is a sport, which emphasizes the skills of goal setting, precision, determination, and hard work. If these skills represent your business's philosophy, you or your business may be interested in being an Underwriting Sponsor of the SIGS Parent Association (SPA).

SPA assists and encourages approximately 175 gymnasts each year in developing their minds and bodies through the sport of gymnasts. Our gymnasts have shown their skills through a variety of accomplishments including State Titles, Regional and National Qualifiers, an International Team member, and NCAA scholarship recipients.

We are seeking sponsorships for our Optional through Elite level program to support these outstanding gymnasts. There are many significant expenses associated with competing in national invitational meets, as well as USAG Regional and National competitions. It is our goal to support these athletes as they travel and compete to represent Kentuckiana and the United States of America.

If you are interested in supporting the sport of gymnastics in Kentuckiana, and the skills it furthers and establishes in young people, please contact us at 812-206-7081 for more information.
