  • Please use the mailbox over the leotard area to make payments to the Parent Association. It is labeled "Parent Association".
  • If you owe an unreasonably large amount and are not fundraising or making regular payments, you child may not be entered in a meet(s).
  • The balance of your child's fees should be paid prior to the Awards Banquet, or your child may not be able to attend.

Parents Association Fundraising Opportunity

CENTERPLATE is one of the fundraising opportunities for the SIGS Parents Association.  Centerplate is the organization that hires volunteers for concession stands and booths at the events held at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium (and other venues).  Centerplate makes contributions (10% for concession stands and 8% for beer sales) to us for the volunteers we provide them.  Contributions will be divided among the PA accounts of the volunteers for that event.

Centerplate has issued the Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium UofL Football Schedule to us.

We will be staffing a full concession stand (12 people) and a beer cart (4 people) for each of the UofL home football games.

This schedule of football games is a commitment.  We will be obligated to staff the stands completely, and we will not have the option of cancelling.  This should serve to be a profitable fundraiser for those willing to work.

The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, August 30 vs. Murray State 7:30 pm
Thursday, September 6 vs. Middle Tenn. 7:00 pm
Saturday, September 22 vs. Syracuse TBA
Friday, October 5 vs. Utah 8:00 pm
Saturday, October 27 vs. Pittsburg TBA
Thursday, November 29 vs. Rutgers 7:30 pm

All workers must attend TIPS Training in order to work these UofL football games.  TIPS Training is offered Saturday, August 18 at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium at 10:00 am.  You must be registered for this training.

Please call Jennifer O’Brien (284-2437 or 989-1298) ASAP to reserve yourself a spot.  Remember, you must attend this TIPS training in order to work at any of the UofL Football games.

Please direct your questions to Jennifer O’Brien.  Leave her a note or call her at home – 284-2437 or cell – 989-1298.

Sponsorship

SIGS Parent Association (SPA) - is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to:

  • Provide support, enthusiasm, and encouragement for each gymnast, coach, and team at SIGS
  • Promote gymnastic competition in all competitive and developmental levels as established by U.S.A. Gymnastics (USAG).
  • Increase community awareness of the sport of gymnastics by hosting local meets and through exhibitions and demonstrations throughout the community.
  • Provide the opportunity for parents to fundraise some of the expenses associated with competing in a top-rate USA Gymnastics program including meet entry fees, coaches expenses, flight expenses, and dues.

We welcome new gymnasts and parents as well as established team members, friends, colleagues, and sponsors to the SPA family for the 2003-2004 season!

Gymnastics is a sport, which emphasizes the skills of goal setting, precision, determination, and hard work. If these skills represent your business's philosophy, you or your business may be interested in being an Underwriting Sponsor of the SIGS Parent Association (SPA).

SPA assists and encourages approximately 130 gymnasts each year in developing their minds and bodies through the sport of gymnasts. Our gymnasts have shown their skills through a variety of accomplishments including State Titles, Regional and National Qualifiers, an International Team member, and NCAA scholarship recipients.

We are seeking sponsorships for our Optional through Elite level program to support these outstanding gymnasts. There are many significant expenses associated with competing in national invitational meets, as well as USAG Regionals and Nationals. It is our goal to support these athletes as they travel and compete to represent Kentuckiana and the United States of America.

If you are interested in supporting the sport of gymnastics in Kentuckiana, and the skills it furthers and establishes in young people, please contact us at 812-288-8188 for more information.
