Gymnastics Team Tryout Results

May 1, 2009

Dear Parents and Gymnasts,

It was wonderful to see such a large response to our Gymnastics Team Try-outs on Sunday, April 19th.  Thank you so much for your patience as we finalized our results. We saw lots of talent on this day and wanted to ensure that each child was placed on a team that will help them reach their fullest potential.  We have carefully evaluated each child regarding their potential, their current skills, strengths, self discipline, maturity and love of the sport.  All of these factors are essential if a positive experience and high level of self esteem are to be maintained.  As our team program continues to grow we strive to continually meet the needs of gymnasts and their families.  With great pride, we offer a wide variety of opportunities so that each child has a perfect team to settle into for the 2009-2010 season.

Listed below are our recommended team placements.  Please keep in mind that they only represent our recommendations and that no placements are final until everyone has signed a yearly commitment. Some teams may be subject to change as we continue our evaluation process for those that may have missed try-outs.  A team introduction and orientation will be on Friday, May 8th at 6:00pm. This will give you a chance to meet your child’s coach and ask any questions you need to about SIGS teams before committing to a team.

Summer practices with your new teams will begin the week of June 1st with uniform sizing and a parent/ coach meeting to follow your child’s second week of practice.  If you have any questions regarding your child’s placement or SIGS team program please contact Ilena Earl or Kelly Fust at 949-7447 or iearl@ccol.net.  Thank you again for allowing your child to participate in try-outs and in this wonderful sport of gymnastics.

Gymnastically Yours,
Kelly Fust and Ilena Earl

Coastal Corporation Kickin' Kentucky Classic February 21, 2009

SIGS had a great showing at Coastal Corporation Kickin' Kentucky Classic in Lexington on 2/21/09.

Tiny Sparkles started off the performances with a great routine finishing in 2nd.

Both Youth Squads (Glitter & Starlettes) had to rework routines that morning, but still had great performances finishing in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Juniors nailed their routine and finished with 1st place in Small Junior Level 3 and won the level 3 award beating our Senior Level 3 teams and large junior level 3 teams....They also scored higher than many level 4 teams at the event.  Way to go!!! Keep it up!

Seniors had another inspiring performance after injuries forced them to rework the routine again.  They pulled together and placed 3rd under 2 teams that were co-ed, so against all girl competition they were definitely winners.

Parents--SIGS parents were unmatched last weekend.  Keep up the spirit...We love it!

JamFest September 27 & 28, 2008

SIGS All-Stars had a fantastic showing at Jamfest. 4 out of 5 teams placed 1st in their division.

The tiny team started it off with a great performance and unexpected 1st place.  The youth squads strutted their stuff and proved they will have a successful year.  Juniors had a very good performance but had some tough competition.  They finished with 2nd place.  The Seniors looked amazing, proving to the coaches and fans that level 4 was a good step up from last year.  Overall, it will be an exciting year for the SIGS All-star cheer squads.  What a great way to kick off the competition season.  Congratulations, stars!!!
